Avocado Dip

1 large avocado
fresh lemon juice
herb salt

Mash avocado with some lemon juice (depends on how tangy you like it) and herb salt to taste

Biltong  dip
A dip with a difference? Try this one....

125 gm smooth cottage cheese or cream cheese with chives
30 ml mayonnaise
30 ml lemon juice
30 ml chopped fresh parsley
60 gm grated biltong (125 ml)
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Combine all the ingredients, dilute with a little milk if preferred.

Chilli and ginger dipping sauce

2 red chillies
2 garlic cloves
1 knob/s fresh ginger
10 ml brown sugar
45 ml Sea Harvest fish sauce
2 limes (juice)
45 ml water
 
Mix ingredients together and pour into a small dipping bowl.
If stored in a sealed container, the sauce will last for up to one week in the fridge.

Cottage cheese dip

60 ml milk
250 ml natural yoghurt
2 cloves garlic, crushed
2 large gherkins, chopped
salt and pepper
250 ml smooth or creamed cottage cheese

1. Pour cottage cheese, milk and yoghurt into a food processor and blend until smooth.
2. Add garlic and chopped gherkin. Blend until smooth and season with salt and pepper.
3. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

Garlic dip a la difference :)
1 tub cottage cheese
2 tblsp Mrs Balls chutney (ok any type lol)
2 tblsp mayonnaise
2-3 cloves crushed garlic
salt
pepper

Mix well.... blend for smooth or just stir well for chunky and that's it! Enjoy!!

Now I want some Simba chips to enjoy my dip with.... drool! Tastes great with celery or carrots too

GUACAMOLE

4 Med Avocados, mashed roughly
125 ml Finely chopped Green Chilli peppers
1 - 2 Tomatoes, finely chopped 
60 ml Minced onion
1 Tablespoon salt
Freshly grounded black pepper
Crushed garlic - to taste
60 ml Lemon juice
Shallots - optional

Combine all ingredients, cover and chill.
Serve with corn chips or snack biscuits

YOGHURT AND HONEY FRUIT DIP RECIPE

INGREDIENTS:

· 250g  Plain Yoghurt
· 3 Tbls honey
· A selection of fresh fruit for dipping such as apples, pears, clementines, grapes, strawberries and kiwi fruit - (depending on the season).

METHOD:

Place the Yoghurt in a dish, whisk until smooth and stir in the honey, leaving a marbled effect. Cut the fruit into wedges or bite sized pieces, or leave whole. Arrange the fruit on a platter with the bowl of yoghurt dip in the centre. Serve chilled.

Onion Dip

1 packet thick white inion soup powder
500 ml milk
1x250 g tub creamed cottage cheese

Mix the onion soup as indicated on the packet but use the 500 ml milk.
Allow to cool and add the cottage cheese.

Peppery Feta Dip with Sun-Dried Tomatoes
Serves 12

Everybody loves this!

1 x 225 g tub feta cheese, drained
8 x Ina Paarman’s Sun-dried Tomato Quarters in olive oil vinaigrette, drained
4 T (60 ml) olive oil
1 red chilli, finely sliced, with seeds
1 t (5 ml) freshly ground black pepper
1 x 250 g tub smooth cottage cheese
1 cup (250 ml) plain yoghurt

Place all the ingredients in a processor and process until smooth. Serve at room temperature with fresh pita bread, crostini or crackers.

Tuna Dip
Blend 1 can drained tuna, 125 ml mayonnaise, 125 ml grated cucumber, 125 ml smooth cottage cheese, 5 ml Onion Salt and black pepper together
